Best NPC potions for training
Potions are the bill you pay every hour you train. Here is what every shop potion heals per meso, when a bigger one is worth it, and when to buy from players instead.
HP: Meat50 / 100 HP
MP: Lemon100 / 100 MP
Cheaper from players7 of 15- For HP, buy MeatAt 50 mesos per 100 HP it's the cheapest HP in any shop, and it heals 160 a use. Buy it from 6 grocers, Mr. Sweatbottom. Fried Chicken, Red Potion, Egg, Apple cost the same per HP but heal less a use.
- Step up only when Meat can't keep upEvery bigger potion costs more per HP: Orange Potion is 60 and White Potion is 70 mesos per 100 HP. Pay for one when a single Meat heals less than a monster hits you for, or when you press the potion key more than you attack.
- For MP, buy Lemon100 mesos per 100 MP, the cheapest MP in any shop. Orange costs the same per MP but restores less a use. Blue Potion costs 110 per 100 MP and Pure Water 140, so they're only worth it for the bigger heal.
- Check the Free Market firstRight now 7 of the 15 shop items on this page sell for less between players. Bought from players, the bigger potions often cost no more per HP than the cheapest ones at the shop.
- Never sell potions back to a shopShops pay a tenth of what they charge for HP and MP items (Red Potion: 5 mesos). Use spare drops or sell them to players.
Every HP item an NPC sells, cheapest per HP first. Every shop that stocks an item charges the same, so buy wherever you are.

Bigger potions save key presses, not mesos: 1,000 HP takes 7 × Meat or 2 × White Potion. That many presses in a row are attacks you don't make, which can cost you more than the potions do.
MP costs about twice as much as HP at every shop, so Magicians spend the most on potions.

Watermelon restores 800 HP and 800 MP for 1,920 mesos at Valen. The same from the cheapest HP and MP potions costs 1,200, so at the shop it only saves inventory space. From players it goes for about 700, which beats the potions.
Monsters drop potions and food, and players sell what they don't need for less than the shops charge. The prices here are what each item sold for on HubCW in the last 30 days.

Warrior: Improved HP Recovery
It makes every HP item heal more: +20% at level 1 up to +50% at level 15. Maxed, the same potions cost a third less per HP:
| Item | Heals | With the skill maxed | Mesos per 100 HP |
|---|---|---|---|
Meat | 160 | 240 | 50 → 33.3 |
Fried Chicken | 120 | 180 | 50 → 33.3 |
Red Potion | 100 | 150 | 50 → 33.3 |
Egg | 60 | 90 | 50 → 33.3 |
Apple | 40 | 60 | 50 → 33.3 |
Magician: Improved MP Recovery
Every MP item restores +10% more at level 1, up to +25% at level 15. Lemon then restores 188 MP, so 100 MP costs 80 mesos instead of 100.
With Magic Guard maxed, 80% of every hit comes out of MP, so a Magician buys mostly MP potions and only a few HP ones.
The other classes
- Cleric: Heal heals you and your party for MP alone. A Cleric needs almost no HP potions, and a party with one needs fewer.
- Thieves: Critical Recovery (Assassin) and Nimble Recovery (Bandit) give back 10% of your HP and MP at most every 30 seconds, on a critical hit or a dodge.
- Bowmen: no skill heals or stretches potions, but killing from range means fewer hits taken. Buy the cheapest HP and MP items above and keep your distance.
Elixirs restore a share of your Max HP and MP, and have a cooldown before the next one. The bigger your HP and MP, the more an Elixir is worth. Type yours in to compare each one with the same HP and MP from Meat and Lemon:
| Elixir | Best price | Worth to you | Verdict |

Mana Elixir50% MP |
743 mesos from players |
400 | Worth itNot yet: use potions |
- Shops sell the Elixir for 3,000 mesos, and only to Citizens of Honor (grade 10): Raymond, Max. From players it's much cheaper.
- A Mana Elixir at 743 mesos beats Lemon once you have about 1,500 Max MP.
- Even when they're worth it, keep Elixirs for emergencies: a boss hit or a mob you didn't see. The cooldown makes them a bad main potion.
Grocers and General Stores also sell potions that add a stat for a few minutes. For training they're worth it only when the stat changes how many hits a kill takes, or whether you hit at all.

- Attack potions (Warrior and Magic Potions): worth it when +10 attack takes a hit off every kill. Try one where you train and count the hits.
- Accuracy potions (Sniper Potions): for when you miss a lot, usually at monsters a few levels above you. The Training Finder shows the accuracy each monster needs.
- Speed Potions: for travel between maps, not for the fight.
- Buff potions are often cheaper from players too: compare the two price columns.

Training in the Sleepywood dungeon? Mr. Sweatbottom in the Regular Sauna and the 24 Hr Mobile Store in Ant Tunnel Park sell potions on the spot, so you don't have to walk back to town.
- From the game data: what each item restores, what shops pay back for it, and the skill numbers. They update when the game does.
- From players: the game client doesn't have shop stock or prices, so those come from players' records of the shops (NiaMeowDB's NPC shop list, thanks to Dreamt's shop videos). They match the client: shops charge 10 times the pay-back price for HP and MP items and 2 times for buff potions. If a shop has changed, tell us at [email protected].
- Calculated: mesos per 100 HP is the price divided by what it restores, times 100. An Elixir is worth what its share of your HP and MP would cost in the cheapest shop HP and MP potions. Player prices are the median HubCW sale of the last 30 days, or the median Free Market ask when nothing sold; a dash means neither.
- The skill bonuses are taken to work on every HP or MP item, as their text says ("recovery from items"). Whether they also add to Elixirs isn't known.
