A new traveler, eh? Want to learn how to hunt? The Tutorial Jr. Sentinels you see here are normally too powerful for you to handle, but Grendel the Really Old, the head of all magicians, sealed up their power. So take down three, pick up what they drop, and go see Peter, who should be around here somewhere.
Accept: Look at your mini map (M), located at the top left corner of the screen. You should see something green blinking on the northeast side of the map. That's Peter. You'll run into Jr. Sentinels on your way to meet Peter. Defeat them, pick up 3 Jr. Sentinel Shellpieces, then talk to Peter.
Decline: Oh, you know how to hunt already? Well, you can still test your abilities!
